Star Trek
Ok, I gotta say something about Star Trek! It is without a doubt, one of the greatest franchises ever in the history of Earth.
Gene Rodenberry was a genius. His vision of the future (our now and soon to be) was amazing.
I know a lot of people like Star Wars better (and I do enjoy the Sci Fi Fantasy of Vader and his "buddies") but, Wars is fantasy based while Star Trek is much more reality based. Dont Laugh! It's True! Look at all of the things Rodenberry "thought up" in the 60's that are now used by YOU everyday. Automatic doors that slide to the side, flip phones (comunicators) that are voice activated, hydroponics, PDA's, etc....
Watch the show again and pay attention. The next gizmo you see might be in your home tomorrow!

Check out the link to the right. Patricia Byron is a local artist/poet and her work is now showing at the Southeast Library. She also has a studio real close to the main library.
She is a great person and I really enjoy her art. She will be at the Southeast Library on Tuesday July 10th at 6:30pm to discuss her work and answer questions. Please come out and see her and support local art!!

Hold the milk, put back the sugar They are powerless to console We've gathered here to sprinkle ashes from our late friend's cereal bowl. Breakfast Clubbers, say the motto that he taught us to repeat: "You will lose it in your gym class if you wait `til noon to eat." Back when the Chess Club said our eggs were soft every Monday he'd say grace and hold our juice aloft Oh, none of us knew his checkout time would come so soon But before his brain stopped waving, he composed this tune:

That photo above is not my current hair style. That was a "trying new things" time. Way too much gunk in my hair and too much effort. I dont think I'll go that route again.
